Flashback

Today was a day of reminiscing, of particular two things that happened in my day:

1. One of my workmates was delivering a package for a friend and the package was in a "Brashes" plastic bag. Are the memories flooding back now? That's right, before HMV, before Sanity, there was Brashes, I think they died because of HMV and my workmate told me that they might have been taken over by HMV, but it was a classic to see that bag, it must be about 10-15 years old, still in mint condition, a collectors item.

2. After music practice (which went really well I might add) we sat around Tea Etc talking about handball and all things associated with it. Let me refresh your memory on some of the terms:

Into - Interference

Self Into - Interference by yourself, classic

Grabs - The act of grabbing the ball for whatever reason, I think this was a bad thing to do, as in you were out if you grabbed the ball

Rolls - When the ball is struck but for some reason ends up rolling along the ground which results in..

Lines - Similar to a ball up in basketball where the ball is bounced on the centre line and whoever's court it lands on, they must take the hit. Lines was also called when a shot hit a line (this was to save your ass because you couldn't reach it in the first place)

Better - When someone serves the ball but is unsatisfactory and not to your liking, the receiver can then replicate the type of serve they request back to the server

Ace, King, Queen Dunce - The positions on the handball court, all positions had a 2nd chance if they were out, except Dunce.

that's all I can think of at the moment, I'm sure there are more. I'm so glad that the tradition of handball and the terminology still remains to this day, just imagine that kids all over the world have, without knowing it, passed the traditions and rules of handball down from generation to generation, one veggie to another.

Like I mentioned before, music practice went really well, everything is almost set for tomorrow, just a couple of small things to finalise, but apart from that, we are GO for Outreach 06, pray that God will provide.

Time to rest, got a big day ahead tomorrow, ah the memories....
